Meghan Markle’s take on a red wine hot chocolate combines, as she describes on her website: “two of every lady’s classic loves, wine and chocolate.”

Megan has previously expressed (on numerous occasions) her love for a vino, telling The New Potato: “God, do I love wine; a beautiful full red or a crisp white,” so it only makes sense she’s create her own version of this indulgent hot drink.

Ingredients

• 8 cups milk
• 500g dark chcoclate
• 1 bottle red wine
• 2 cinnamon sticks
• 4 cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon all spice
• 1/2 teaspoon smokey chilli powder
• marshmallows to decorate

Method

1. In a saucepan, bring the milk to a simmer. Add chocolate pieces, stirring occasionally.
2. In a separate saucepan, add wine, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, and chilli powder. Simmer for at least 10 minutes.
3. Combine the hot chocolate and mulled wine. Add marshmallows, and enjoy.
